FedEx Pilots Seek Release From Mediation Process, Paving Way for Legal Strike
Mar 8, 2024 12:57 PM

03:34 PM EST, 03/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- FedEx ( FDX ) pilots filed a request with the National Mediation Board to release them from the mediation process, the Air Line Pilots Association said Friday.

ALPA is representing the pilots and has been engaged with the company's management in federal mediation since October 2022, according to the association.

"FedEx ( FDX ) pilot leaders have become increasingly frustrated with management's lack of movement on key contract sections," ALPA said.

This is the first step towards a legal strike for a new contract, the association said.

"We strongly disagree that a release from mediation is appropriate," a FedEx ( FDX ) spokesperson said in an email to MT Newswires. "We believe the mediation process under the supervision of the National Mediation Board -- which ALPA requested -- remains the best way" to reach an accord, the spokesperson said.
