09:57 AM EDT, 03/13/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Fermi America (FRMI) said Friday that in partnership with the Texas Tech University System, it plans to file an additional 5 gigawatt Clean Air Permit with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The move follows Project Matador's first 6 gigawatt Clean Air Permit, which was approved two weeks ago, and signals the campus' plan to reach about 17 gigawatts of power comprising 11 gigawatts of natural gas, and 4.4 gigawatts of nuclear energy, solar and battery sources, Fermi said.
