07:05 AM EDT, 03/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- FireFly Metals ( MNXMF ) late on Monday released drilling results from the Green Bay copper-gold project in Newfoundland.
Highlights of the results from drilling of the Massive Sulphide lenses from the exploration drive include 14.2 meters at 7.5% copper equivalent, 9 meters at 5.5% copper equivalent, 14.5 meters at 4.6% copper equivalent and 19 meters at 3.8% copper equivalent.
Highlights of the results from drilling of the broad Footwall stinger zone include 50.9 meters at 2.6% copper equivalent, 46.8 meters at 2.2% copper equivalent, 66.8 meters at 2.1% copper equivalent, 21.7 meters at 2.7% copper equivalent and 42.8 meters at 2.2% copper equivalent.
Results from the broad Footwall stinger zone continues to demonstrate thick and consistent copper mineralization, pointing to the potential for large-scale bulk mining.
The infill drilling program is aimed at upgrading inferred resources to measured and indicated category. The latest results are expected to significantly increase the quantity of measured and indicated resources in the next update.
Ongoing surface exploration drilling and geophysics will test high-priority near-mine targets, with first results expected in the June quarter.
An additional underground rig is scheduled to commence in May, bringing the total number of rigs to seven.
FireFly has also appointed Jared Dietrich as vice president of metallurgy. Dietrich is expected to play a role in the economic studies for upscaled production at Green Bay.
