06:58 AM EDT, 09/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Fireweed Metals ( FWEDF ) late on Wednesday released an updated mineral resource estimate for the Tom and Jason deposits and the inaugural resource estimates for the Boundary Zone and End Zone deposits at the Macmillan Pass (Macpass) project in Canada.

The mineral resource estimate is composed of an indicated resource of 56 million tonnes (Mt) at 7.27% zinc equivalent and an inferred resource of 48.5 Mt at 7.48% zinc equivalent.

The contained zinc equivalent metal in the indicated resources category increased by about 300% compared to the 2018 resource estimate.

"This resource is the culmination of six years of exploration success at Macpass, including an additional 43,000 metres of drilling at Tom, Jason, End Zone, and our discovery at Boundary Zone, which is one of the most globally significant zinc discoveries of the last 15 years," said Jack Milton, vice president of geology at Fireweed.
