09:41 AM EDT, 03/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Fireweed Metals ( FWEDF ) on Monday said it engaged a team of internationally recognized engineering and technical consultants with "extensive project delivery and licensing experience" in the Yukon and northern Canada to complete an updated Feasibility Study for its 100%-owned Mactung Tungsten project, located in Yukon, Canada.
"We are confident that with the consultants we've engaged, a technically robust FS will be completed early in 2027, to be utilized in further engineering and mine licensing efforts," said Fireweed Metals ( FWEDF ) Chief Executive Ian Gibbs.
In parallel with consultant mobilization, the company has already started the block model update, mine planning and design, metallurgical testwork and geometallurgical program, and execution planning. Mactung completed its environmental assessment in 2014, and FWZ said the FS will support mine license applications expected to be submitted in 2027.
Shares of the company were down again Monday on the TSX Venture Exchange, amid big losses for the broader stock markets.
