05:12 AM EDT, 05/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- First Guaranty Bancshares ( FGBI ) said Wednesday that Alton Lewis will retire from his role as president and chief executive officer in May.

Lewis started off with the company as a board member in 1988 and became president and CEO in 2009. He will continue to serve as vice chairman of the board of directors.

Lewis will be succeeded by Michael Mineer as the company's next president and CEO. Mineer currently serves as the company's Mideast area president.
