05:25 PM EST, 02/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- First Helium ( FHELF ) after trade Monday said it started drilling its 7-15 well at the Worsley Property in northern Alberta.
The company said that along with the main target in the Leduc formation, it will also be exploring other potential zones for oil, natural gas, and helium, which have been identified in previous wells in the area.
"We are excited to be drilling our high impact Leduc anomaly, 7-15, which on seismic is approximately 5X the areal extent of our successful 1-30 light oil pool discovery. Favorable results from this well will further de-risk our Leduc Play, where we have identified 10 additional primary locations on proprietary 3D seismic, and potential for further southeast extension across our 100% owned lands," said Chief Executive Ed Bereznicki said.
The 7-30 development well has been drilled and is ready for completion and testing, the company said, adding that after drilling the 7-15 well, it plans to complete and equip both wells, aiming to have them ready before the spring break-up period in Alberta.
The company's shares closed down $0.005 to $0.06 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
