The company said its impact statement received a positive conformity determination from the federal agency and will now move into a final EIS technical review, with a final decision expected by the end of 2025.
"Having received the outcome within 30-days of the Final EIS being submitted demonstrates the diligence with which we have approached the assessment work and builds confidence in the regulatory process timelines for the project," Chief Executive Dan Wilton said in a release.
The company says the Springpole project is one of the largest undeveloped gold projects in Ontario, containing 4.6-million ounces of gold and 24.3-million ounces of silver.
First Mining shares closed unchanged at $0.13 Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
