08:13 AM EDT, 06/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- First Mining Gold ( FFMGF ) on Thursday reported a settlement agreement that would end a dispute over an 18-kilometer temporary winter access road for the Springpole exploration camp in Ontario.

In February, First Mining received permits from the Ontario government to build the road but the Cat Lake First Nation (CLFN) sought a judicial challenge to the permits. In June, the CLFN accepted a settlement offer from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

First Mining said it continues to meet with CLFN and community members to build "collaborative, respectful long-term relationships" as it develops the Springpole gold project.
