04:31 PM EDT, 07/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- First Mining Gold ( FFMGF ) after close of trade Thursday said it reached a Long Term Relationship Agreement (LTRA) with the Mishkeegogamang First Nation covering the Springpole Gold Project in northwestern Ontario, .
The company said the LTRA sets out a collaborative approach for the development of one of Canada's largest gold resources, "through construction, operations, and closure, in a manner that respects the environment and provides direct benefits to the First Nation".
The LTRA includes provisions for Mishkeegogamang to take part in the project's environmental management and monitoring, various management and employment measures, and the promotion of business opportunities during the mine's construction and operations.
The LTRA also sets out the sharing of financial benefits from the project.
"This modern agreement provides clear avenues for Mishkeegogamang's participation in the development and operation of the project from an environmental, cultural, economic and business opportunities perspective," said chief executive Dan Wilton.
First Mining shares closed down $0.01 to $0.185 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
