FirstEnerg's Units Complete Second Utility-Scale Solar Facility in West Virginia

10:11 AM EDT, 10/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- FirstEnergy's ( FE ) Mon Power and Potomac Edison units said Friday they have finished constructing their second utility-scale solar facility in West Virginia.

The 5.5-megawatt facility at the Rivesville site in Marion County has nearly 14,000 solar panels spread across 27 acres of company-owned land.

The project is part of a larger initiative to develop 50 megawatts of solar across five sites, generating over 87,000 Solar renewable energy credits to help West Virginia reach its 200-megawatt solar goal, available for purchase by customers supporting renewable energy, according to a joint statement.
