Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $0.56.

Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 rose to $3.28 billion from $3.01 billion a year earlier.

Four analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $3.53 billion.

For Q3, the company expects EPS of $0.85 to $0.95.

The consensus is for GAAP EPS of $0.92.

For 2024, FirstEnergy ( FE ) said it continues to expect operating EPS of $2.61 to $2.81.

Analysts are looking for a normalized EPS of $2.69.
