09:21 AM EDT, 08/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- FirstEnergy ( FE ) unit Jersey Central Power & Light said Monday it is investing $15.4 million in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, to make electric service more reliable.
The project comprises improvements to overhead lines and substations as well as the installation of underground wires in forested areas to decrease outages and speed repairs for customers, the company said.
The upgrades are part of a two-stage project to improve the reliability of lines with a history of outages, the company said, adding at least $95 million in upgrades will be finalized in the next two years, and longer-term projects will continue through 2028.
