04:20 AM EST, 11/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Fluence Energy's ( FLNC ) subsidiary and LEAG Clean Power said Friday they will build Europe's largest battery energy storage system, a 1 GW / 4 GWh GigaBattery Janschwalde 1000 project in Janschwalde, Germany.

The companies said that the system will utilize Fluence's Smartstack energy storage technology.

The project is part of LEAG's GigawattFactory initiative, which integrates solar, wind, flexible power plants, and large-scale storage to accelerate Germany's energy transition, the companies said, adding that the GigaBattery system will provide critical grid stability, enable renewable integration, support energy trading, and enhance Germany's energy security.
