Fluor Gets Phase 1 Contract For Northvolt's Battery Facility in Germany

04:43 PM EDT, 06/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Fluor (FLR) said Thursday its Advanced Technologies & Life Sciences business has received an engineering, procurement and construction management services contract for phase 1 of Northvolt's lithium-ion battery factory in Heide, Germany.

Fluor said it will book its undisclosed portion of the $4.8 billion project in Q2, adding that its work on the project includes building utilities and chemical units. Completion is scheduled for 2027, the firm said.

Northvolt, headquartered in Sweden, manufactures batteries for consumer and industrial products, electric vehicles and solutions for energy storage systems.
