07:03 AM EDT, 06/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Foran Mining ( FMCXF ) on Monday said all onsite staff at its McIlvenna Bay Project are safe and accounted for and that no damage has been reported to the infrastructure in the wake of regional wildfires.

The wildfire conditions are improving near the project site, added the company, which evacuated about 540 non-essential personnel on May 22 while a team of 44 employees and specialized wildfire contractors remained on site to protect the site.

As the wildfire advanced in several directions, including westward towards the McIlvenna Bay site, Foran installed additional fire attenuation systems, reinforced firebreaks, and worked in close coordination with on-site personnel and wildfire specialists to ensure the continued protection of critical infrastructure.
