10:08 AM EDT, 09/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor Company ( F ) sold 182,985 vehicles in August, up 13.4% from 161,300 vehicles sold in August 2023, the company said Thursday.

The automaker sold 8,944 electric vehicles, 16,394 hybrid vehicles and 157,647 internal combustion vehicles during the month, up 28.9%, 49.8% and 9.9%, respectively, year over year.

Trucks continued to be the most popular type of Ford vehicle sold at 103,011 vehicles, up 12.3% from the year-ago period. Sport utility vehicles were second in August at 76,810, up 13.7%, and cars were third at 3,164, up 55.4%.
