09:08 AM EDT, 08/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor ( F ) is recalling almost 500,000 vehicles in the US over a brake fluid issue, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

A brake fluid leak can extend the needed distance to stop the vehicle, increasing crash risks, the auto-safety agency said Thursday.

Ford has not received any reported accident or injury related to the issue, which involves certain Edge model years 2015-18 and MKX model years 2016-18.

The NHTSA said an estimated 1% of the recalled vehicles have the defect.

Ford didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
