07:17 AM EDT, 05/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor ( F ) is recalling more than 1 million vehicles in the US due to a software issue that can impact the rearview camera's images, a statement from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or NHTSA showed on Tuesday.
The NHTSA said the issue can cause the rearview camera image to delay, freeze, or not display, reducing the driver's view while the vehicle is in reverse and increase crash risk. According to Ford, about 1.08 million vehicles from 2021 to 2024 are potentially affected by the issue.
Dealers are expected to update the vehicles' software for free as a remedy and this remedy is anticipated to be available in Q3, according to the statement.
