09:55 AM EDT, 06/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor ( F ) said Tuesday that it has started mass production of its all-electric Ford Explorer vehicle at its Ford Cologne Electric Vehicle Center in Germany.

The company said the center is its first dedicated electric vehicle center in Europe that was completed through a $2 billion investment.

The all-electric Ford Explorer would be the first vehicle to roll off the production line at the new facility and a second vehicle "will be revealed shortly" for production starting later this year at the same center, Ford said.
