06:34 AM EDT, 08/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor ( F ) is recalling up to 103,174 F-150 vehicles in the US due to rear axle hub bolts that may fatigue and break, potentially damaging the axle hub splines, according to a US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) notice issued Monday.
The recall affects F-150 models from 2023 to 2025, equipped with the Trailer Tow Max Duty package and a 9.75-inch heavy-duty axle with a 3/4 float axle design.
NHTSA said damaged axle hub splines could cause a vehicle to rollaway when in park without the parking brake applied or lead to a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford dealers will replace the left and right rear axle shaft assemblies at no cost to owners.
NHTSA's safety recall report estimated 1% of the vehicles with defect.
