Ford Must Face Proposed Class Action Alleging Privacy Violation
Dec 4, 2024 9:55 AM

12:29 PM EST, 12/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor ( F ) must face a proposed class action lawsuit alleging the automaker violated the California Invasion of Privacy Act, or CIPA, by allowing a third-party software vendor to record chats between consumers and Ford customer support agents.

Plaintiff Rebeka Rodriguez sufficiently pleaded that Ford aided and abetted its vendor LivePerson Inc.'s violations of anti-eavesdropping provisions within the CIPA, the US District Court for the Southern District of California said Tuesday.

Ford did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
