Oct 16, 2025 3:54 AM

06:34 AM EDT, 10/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor ( F ) is recalling up to 59,006 vehicles in the US equipped with engine block heaters due to fire risks, according to a recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Wednesday.

The US auto safety regulator said engine block heaters may crack and develop a coolant leak, potentially causing an electrical short circuit when plugged in and increasing the risk of a fire.

The recall applies to certain models, including the 2016-2019 Lincoln MKC, 2016-2023 Explorer, 2019-2020 Fusion, 2019-2024 Ranger, 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair, Escape, 2021-2024 Bronco and Bronco Sport, and 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles, according to the NHTSA.
