Foreign Carmakers Outproduce Detroit's Big 3 in US for 1st Time

01:58 PM EDT, 07/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- In 2023, international automakers produced more light vehicles in the US in 2023 than "Detroit-3" car manufacturers for the first time ever, according to a report Tuesday.

International automakers produced over 4.9 million vehicles last year, compared to roughly 4.6 million by the Detroit-3 -- General Motors ( GM ) , Ford Motor ( F ) and Stellantis ( STLA ) , according to Autos Drive America and American International Automobile Dealers Association.

Lucid (LCID), Tesla (TSLA) and Rivian (RIVN) produced 754,342 vehicles combined.
