TOKYO (Reuters) - Fortress Investment Group is considering buying an intermediate holding company that has the Ito-Yokado supermarket chain under its wing from Seven & i Holdings ( SVNDF ), TV Tokyo said on its website on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, Kyodo news agency reported that trading firm Sumitomo Corp ( SSUMF ) is planning to take part in the first round of bidding for the shares of the intermediate holding firm.
