09:09 AM EDT, 04/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- FPX Nickel ( FPOCF ) said Tuesday that it completed a large-scale mineral processing pilot testing campaign for the Baptiste nickel project in British Columbia.

Results from the testwork confirmed the basis of its 2023 preliminary feasibility study and validated its processing strategy, flowsheet and key metallurgical criteria, including estimated recoveries, FPX said.

"This is another positive step as we continue to advance Baptiste as a potential producer of disruptive quantities of low-carbon, low-cost, Canadian nickel," said Andrew Osterloh, FPX's senior vice president for projects and operations.

A $725,000 grant from Natural Resources Canada under the Government of Canada's Critical Minerals Research, Development and Demonstration program partially funded the pilot testing campaign.
