08:37 AM EDT, 06/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- FPX Nickel ( FPOCF ) on Tuesday said it is producing battery-grade nickel sulfate at its Baptiste Nickel Project in British Columbia.
The company said it is continuing a pilot project to refine the battery material from nickel-iron awaruite mined at Baptiste. It will supply its high-purity nickel sulfate crystals to potential customers for testing.
"The production of high-purity nickel sulphate further positions us to engage in strategic discussions with prospective downstream partners across the global EV supply chain," president Martin Turenne said.
The company in March said it is considering building a stand-alone refinery to produce a refinery to process awaruite into nickel sulfate.
FPX shares closed up $0.005 to $0.245 Monday on the TSX Venture Exchange.
