10:25 AM EDT, 10/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- FPX Nickel ( FPOCF ) Tuesday said it is conducting a series of community open houses in the fall for the Baptiste nickel project in British Columbia.
The sessions are part of FPX's efforts to engage with local communities and First Nations. The open houses will be held on Oct. 21-25.
"We believe this is foundational to a successful project that respects local values and perspectives, with a goal towards maximizing local benefits," said Tim Bekhuys, senior vice president for sustainability and external affairs at FPX.
Each session will include informational displays and opportunities for one-on-one discussions with FPX staff. Key topics include technical information on the project, updates on environmental studies, FPX's approach to local contracting and future opportunities, and next steps in project planning, including community input.
The company expects to initiate the formal environmental assessment process in the fourth quarter with submission of the initial project description. Further engagement opportunities will follow in 2026.
