08:49 AM EDT, 06/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- FPX Nickel ( FPOCF ) said Monday that it has recommenced exploration activities at the company's Mich property, located 50 kilometers southeast of Whitehorse in the Yukon.
The company said it recently expanded its claims at Mich by more than 350% and will conduct a wide-ranging surface sampling program over the summer with plans to advance Mich to drill-ready status.
Among the highlights, FPX has staked about 68 square kilometers of new ground contiguous to the existing Mich claims package, bringing the total claimed area at Mich to 87 square kilometers.
FPX will also conduct geological mapping and surface sampling, with plans to expand the footprint of known awaruite nickel mineralization, from where previous sampling and drilling generated positive results.
Additionally, FPX said it has been awarded a non-repayable grant of $38,000 under the Yukon Mineral Exploration Program that will be used to offset program costs.
