PARIS, March 27 (Reuters) - Widening a levy on windfall
profits made by energy companies during periods of high market
prices could be an option for increasing France's tax income and
address an excessive budget deficit, Prime Minister Gabriel
Attal said on Wednesday.
"This is a road we could pursue", said Attal in an interview
with TF1 television.
Attal, however, reiterated the government's position that
increasing income taxes for households is not an option.
