Freeport's mine in Chile requests environmental permission for $741 mln leaching project

SANTIAGO, Dec 11 (Reuters) - The El Abra mine in Chile,

controlled by Freeport, has requested environmental

permission to develop a leaching project at the site with an

estimated investment of $741 million, according to a notice

posted by the regulator on Wednesday.
