PARIS, Oct 8 (Reuters) - France' BNIC body representing
Cognac producers said on Tuesday that new Chinese duties on its
products were retaliation for an EU plan to impose tariffs on
electric vehicles made in China, urging authorities to protect
the brandy industry.
"Everything must be done to avoid the enforcement of these
duties," a BNIC spokesperson said in comments to Reuters.
China on Tuesday imposed temporary anti-dumping measures on
brandy imports from the European Union, hitting brands from
Hennessy to Remy Martin, after the 27-state bloc voted for
tariffs on China-made electric vehicles (EVs).
