07:19 AM EST, 11/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- TotalEnergies' (TTE) subsidiary and other firms were fined by the French Competition Authority 187.5 million euro ($217.5 million) for an anticompetitive agreement in the road fuel distribution sector in Corsica.
According to the regulator, TotalEnergies Marketing France and other companies that are shareholders of Depots Petroliers de la Corsethat and are active in the supply, storage and distribution of road fuels in Corsica had "a written agreement to reserve a right of passage within Corsican fuel depots for their sole benefit." The Competition Authority said arrangement allegedly disadvantaged non-shareholder rivals by forcing them to purchase fuel under conditions set by competitors and incur additional costs due to the cumulative markups.
TotalEnergies did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
