FREYR Battery Completes First Production Trial for New SemiSolid Platform Component

07:00 AM EDT, 06/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- FREYR Battery (FREY) said Monday it completed its first production trial of chargeable unit cells using a new component of its SemiSolid manufacturing platform.

Unit cells were produced using the Casting and Unit Cell Assembly machine at a plant in Norway, using a method that involves improving the quality of the electrodes cast and automating the production line's operation, FREYR said.

The company plans to focus on reaching target production speeds and producing multi-layer battery sample cells, as well as sourcing new development capital from third parties for specific use cases of the SemiSolid technology in the western hemisphere.
