FTC Seeking Info From JPMorgan, Mastercard on 'Surveillance Pricing'

09:48 AM EDT, 07/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The US Federal Trade Commission said Tuesday it issued orders to JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) , Mastercard ( MA ) , Accenture ( ACN ) and five other companies that offer surveillance pricing products and services that incorporate data about consumers' characteristics and behavior.

"The orders seek information about the potential impact these practices have on privacy, competition, and consumer protection," the FTC said.

Specifically, the orders are seeking information on four major areas: types of products and services offered, data collection and inputs, customer and sales information and impacts on consumer prices.

The five other companies receiving orders are Revionics, Bloomreach, Task Software, Pros (PRO), and McKinsey & Co.
