10:01 AM EDT, 04/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- FuelCell Energy ( FCEL ) and ExxonMobil ( XOM ) Technology and Engineering have extended their joint development agreement related to capturing carbon dioxide emissions through Dec. 31, 2026, FuelCell said Monday.
The company said the extended agreement is expected to allow FuelCell to integrate joint technology developments into existing carbon capture products, potentially expediting the technology's market delivery and supporting future projects.
Additionally, the companies plan to negotiate a commercial framework to facilitate the deployment of carbonate fuel cell technology for carbon capture, FuelCell said.
Shares of FuelCell were up 1.8% in recent Monday premarket activity, while ExxonMobil ( XOM ) was 0.6% lower.
