05:46 PM EDT, 06/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- FutureFuel ( FF ) plans to idle biodiesel production temporarily at its Batesville, Arkansas, facility by the end of June amid "regulatory uncertainty."
The output halt will be after remaining contractual obligations are met, the company said Tuesday in a statement.
"Without clarity on the Clean Fuel Producers Tax Credit, which was intended to replace the expired $1 per gallon Blenders Tax Credit, FutureFuel ( FF ) has determined it must temporarily idle its biodiesel production for the time being," according to the statement.
The company intends to restart biodiesel production "once regulatory conditions improve" and now plans to shift capacity to specialty chemicals.
FutureFuel ( FF ) shares fell 3.2% in after-hours trading.
