G Mining Receives Interim Environmental Permit for Oko West Gold Project
Jan 7, 2025 4:42 AM

07:17 AM EST, 01/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- G Mining Ventures ( GMINF ) on Tuesday said it received an interim environmental permit from Guyana's environmental protection agency (EPA).

This was in response to its environmental impact assessment and environmental impact statement submissions (jointly, ESIA) made in November.

The company said the permit is valid for one year and that it intends to advance early works activities in the first half of 2025.

"The receipt of this permit supports a collaborative engagement between Guyana's EPA, Forestry Commission and nearby communities in Region 7 ensuring alignment with GMIN's mine development activities in country," said G Mining ( GMINF ) Chief Executive Louis-Pierre Gignac. "We are excited to have the opportunity to commence early works activities ahead of schedule and to grow the local team in preparation for the main construction phase."

G Mining ( GMINF ) added that following a 60-day comment period, EPA review of the submission, disclosure meetings and publication of the final ESIA report, the EPA will reach a decision with respect to the granting of the final environmental permit for Oko West.

Shares of the company closed down $0.06 or 0.5%, to $11.56 on Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
