12:59 PM EDT, 04/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- GameStop ( GME ) said Friday that US pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will not start on April 9 as originally announced by Nintendo as the company evaluates the potential impact of the tariffs of the Trump administration and "evolving market conditions."

GameStop ( GME ) will "work closely with Nintendo" and provide updates on the new US pre-order date as more information becomes available, the company said in a post on X.

GME shares were up more than 6% in recent trading.
