GameStop Shares Rise After CEO Posts Photo With MicroStrategy Co-Founder, Fueling Meme Trade Speculation

09:58 AM EST, 02/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- GameStop ( GME ) and MicroStrategy ( MSTR ) shares were up in early Monday trading after GameStop ( GME ) Chief Executive Ryan Cohen posted a photo of himself and MicroStrategy ( MSTR ) co-founder and board chairman Michael Saylor on his X account.

Ryan's post provided no text explaining the photo or his presumed meeting with Saylor. GameStop ( GME ) has been popular stock for so-called meme traders the past few years and some may be speculating the two may soon partnering on a bitcoin or another cryptocurrency-related venture involving GameStop ( GME ), according to a CNBC report.

GME and MSTR shares were up 4.8% and 2%, respectively in recent trading.
