Gaming and Leisure Properties Acquires Sunland Park Property in Sale-Leaseback With Strategic Gaming

04:42 PM EDT, 10/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Gaming and Leisure Properties ( GLPI ) acquired the real estate of Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino in a $301 million sale-leaseback deal following its purchase by Strategic Gaming Management, the SGM said Wednesday.

SGM will operate the New Mexico property, which includes 738 slot machines and a 1-mile racetrack, as part of its growing regional portfolio.

SGM also named Matthew Flandermeyer, former chief financial officer of Golden Entertainment ( GDEN ) , as CFO and promoted Fred Heinrich to president of Sunland Park.
