08:34 AM EDT, 10/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- GE Aerospace (GE) and Lilium (LILM) said Wednesday they are teaming up to build a safety foundation for electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.

The partnership, which will support Lilium's flight test campaign, will see Lilium's Fleet Optimizer platform sharing its insights with GE's Event Measurement System platform to inform eVTOL flight safety standards, the companies said.

The companies said they will build an original equipment manufacturer-level flight data monitoring or flight operations quality assurance program and create a voluntary flight data monitoring program option for Lilium's customers.

GE shares rose 0.3% and Lilium shares climbed by more than 7% in premarket activity Wednesday.
