GE Aerospace Partners with Oak Ridge National Lab for Advanced Aircraft Engine Technologies

04:24 AM EDT, 07/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- GE Aerospace (GE) and the US Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory entered into a new Cooperative Research & Development Agreement focused on supercomputing, the company said Sunday.

The company said the collaboration, announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, aims to enhance its ability to design advanced aircraft engine technologies such as the Open Fan concept.

It added that Oak Ridge, which would contribute expertise in computational modeling and simulation, would assist the company in managing large simulations, extracting information more effectively, integrating AI tools for improved data analysis, and enhancing visualization of physical processes.
