Generac Selected to Negotiate $50 Million Department of Energy Grant

10:41 AM EDT, 10/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Generac ( GNRC ) said Monday it has been picked by the Department of Energy to negotiate a $50 million grant.

The grant is part of the DOE's Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnership program, created by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The program is a $10.5 billion initiative to make the power grid more flexible and resilient to extreme weather, the company said.

The company added that it is partnering with the California Water Association to bring clean energy solutions to water utilities across California. The project is expected to invest around $100 million in about 100 water utility sites, focusing on disadvantaged communities.

The project is expected to create around 200 union construction jobs and 33 direct jobs, the company said.
