General Motors Chooses Norway's Vianode as Strategic Supplier of Anode Graphite

06:59 AM EST, 01/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- General Motors ( GM ) has chosen Norway's Vianode as a strategic supplier of synthetic anode graphite for EV batteries under a multi-billion-dollar master supply agreement extending through 2033, Vianode said Wednesday.

Vianode said anode graphite will be shipped from its North American plant, with large-scale production set to begin in 2027.

The deal includes plans for large-scale production at Vianode's North American plant, set to begin in 2027.

The anode graphite will support GM's battery cell manufacturing joint venture with LG Energy Solution, Ultium Cells, and could expand to other partnerships.
