06:03 AM EDT, 08/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- General Motors ( GM ) and Hyundai Motor are set to co-develop the first five vehicles under their strategic collaboration, Hyundai said Wednesday.

Design and engineering work is in progress on four new planned vehicles for the Central and South American markets, with launch scheduled for 2028. An electric commercial van will be co-developed in the US as early as 2028.

Hyundai said sales of the co-developed vehicles are expected to be more than 800,000 units annually once production is fully scaled.
