05:48 PM EDT, 05/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- General Motors ( GM ) plans to invest $888 million to expand V-8 engine production at its Tonawanda, New York, propulsion plant near Buffalo.

The expansion will support the production of the sixth generation of V-8 engines, the company said Tuesday in a statement. The investment covers new machinery, equipment, tools and facility renovations

The move replaces an earlier $300 million plan to build electric vehicle drive units at the facility, Reuters reported Tuesday.
