09:46 AM EST, 01/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- General Motors' ( GM ) Australian unit is facing a class action lawsuit over allegedly defective transmission systems found in certain Holden vehicles, law firm Maurice Blackburn said Wednesday.
The lawsuit relates to Holden vehicles acquired between Jan. 1, 2011, and Dec. 24, 2024, equipped with GM 6L45, 6L50, or 6L80 transmission systems, which allegedly experience shudders, fluid leakage, harsh gear shifts and excessive vibrations, according to the law firm.
Maurice Blackburn alleged that General Motors Australia and New Zealand "failed to comply with the guarantee of acceptable quality under the Australian Consumer Law and engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct."
Neither General Motors ( GM ) nor Maurice Blackburn immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
