Gildan Activewear Refreshes Board of Directors; Considers 2 of Activist Investor's Nominees

06:18 AM EDT, 04/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Gildan Activewear ( GIL ) said Monday it will replace seven out of 12 directors after assessing a proxy campaign by activist investor Browning West.

Tim Hodgson, Lee Bird, Jane Craighead, Lynn Loewen and Les Viner will be appointed to the board, effective May 1, Gildan said. They will succeed outgoing directors Maryse Bertrand, Shirley Cunningham, Charles Herington, Craig Leavitt, as well as current chairman Donald Berg.

Gildan said it also proposes appointing two Browning West nominees, Karen Stuckey and J.P. Towner, to succeed Luc Jobin and Chris Shackelton. Jobin and Shackelton will not stand for reelection at Gildan's 2024 annual meeting on May 28, the company said.
