On the back of the rising stock price of Avenue Supermarts last year, Noronha became India’s richest professional manager with a net worth in excess of a billion dollars. He owns almost 2 percent stake in Avenue Supermarts which owns and operates DMart stores.

Tata Group hospitality firm Indian Hotels sees the target of building 300 hotels and 500 homestays as achievable while it expects to open 12 more hotels this year, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Puneet Chhatwal said on Monday.

The HHTs can also be used for collecting excess fares, penalties and other charges from passengers through digital payment options. In the future, these will also be used for issuing receipts for the same to them, they said. The officials said after the implementation of the HHT system, it will be ensured that the priority of RAC or wait-listed passengers is not bypassed in getting train berths.
